Pickle & Pint

Hello Fellow Pickleballers!

Hello Fellow Pickleballers!

I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people, building friendships, and staying active. Coaching tennis years ago showed me how powerful sports can be in bringing people together, and pickleball has rekindled that same energy for me.

Since becoming a regular at Pickle & Pint, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know many of you, which makes it especially meaningful to now support this community as a sponsoring partner. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just picking up a paddle, the camaraderie and positive spirit here are truly special.

Being part of the local pickleball scene has been one of the highlights of my time since moving to Florida, and I’m grateful to support a place that brings so many vibrant people together. So grab your paddle, enjoy the game, and let’s keep this community thriving!

If I can ever be a sounding board, whether for your pickleball game or your retirement planning, I’d welcome the chance to connect. Meeting new people and having meaningful conversations is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Feel free to use the scheduling link if you’d like to set up a time to chat.

Sincerely,

Willie Schuette

Pickleball Tips

Beware The Kitchen

Stay out of the no-volley zone unless the ball bounces there first. That 7-foot area on both sides of the net is called "the kitchen" for a reason... You'll get burned if you volley from inside it!

Master The Soft Game

Gentle dinks over the net keep your opponents guessing and force them into mistakes. Think finesse over power: Sometimes a whisper is louder than a shout.

Return Deep

On your return of serve, aim deep toward the baseline. This buys you time to get up to the kitchen line where all the action happens. Shallow returns = getting attacked!

Third Shot Drop is Your Best Friend

After the serve and return, hit a soft drop shot into the kitchen. This neutralizes your opponents' advantage and lets you advance to the net. It's the secret weapon of smart players.

Move Together, Win Together

In doubles, you and your partner should move as one unit—side to side, not forward and back. Imagine you're connected by a rope. No gaps means no easy putaways for your opponents!

Paddle Up,  Head Up, Ready Position

Keep your paddle at chest height and out in front of you, not down by your waist. This "ready position" cuts your reaction time in half and makes you dangerous on every shot.
